DARJEELING - 3 NIGHTS

 

Day 1: Arrival & Local Culture

Check-in at your hotel (Glenburn Tea Estate, Elgin Darjeeling, or a boutique heritage stay).

Afternoon:

  • Darjeeling Mall (Chowrasta) – Stroll the promenade, enjoy views of the Himalayas, shop for souvenirs.

  • Keventer’s – Grab a bite (their open terrace is iconic).

  • Bhutia Market – For woollens and quirky hill fashion.

Evening:

  • Watch the sunset from Observatory Hill.

  • Tiger Hill Sunrise – See the first light on Kanchenjunga (and maybe Everest).

  • Visit Ghum Monastery.

  • Visit a Tea Estate:

    • Happy Valley Tea Estate (close to town, guided tours & tasting).

    • Or book a premium tea tasting session (Glenburn, Makaibari, or a boutique tea studio).

Evening:

  • Visit a local café – Hot Stimulating Café or Nathmulls Tea Bar.

  • Optional: Visit Himalayan Tibet Museum for socio-cultural insights.


🌿 Day 3: Nature, Peace & Leisure

Morning:

  • Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park – See the red panda, snow leopard.

  • Visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Tenzing Norgay memorabilia).

  • Walk to the Peace Pagoda at Japanese Temple.

Afternoon:

  • Picnic lunch or dine at a local Nepali thali place.

  • Visit Tibetan Refugee Centre – Handicrafts, carpets, and handmade goods.

Evening:

  • Unwind at your hotel with a bonfire or garden tea session.

  • Optional: Watch a documentary or local cultural performance, if offered.
